Recommended Bets

Tricolorii have the slightest of upper hands in the head-to-head, with two wins to Montenegro’s one, from their five encounters in international football. Romania were the 0-1 winners when these nations last met back in 2018. They also find Montenegro in a run of poor form winning just two of their ten matches since the start of 2021. Therefore, 101 Great Goals’ prediction for this match is Montenegro 1 – 2 Romania and is available at odds of 9.5/1.

Match preview

Montenegro welcomes Romania to the Podgorica City Stadium in Podgorica on Saturday for this UEFA Nations League, Group B match.

This is the second time these nations have been drawn in the same Nations League Group. The inaugural competition saw the pair drawn in Group C together with Serbia and Lithuania. Tricolorii picked up four points from six against Montenegro that campaign which includes a 0-1 win on their last visit to Podgorica to face Montenegro. This victory on the final round of games earned them a promotion to Group B.

Had the results been reversed, Montenegro would have finished one point above Romania earning a promotion to Group B in their place. However, the wait for promotion wasn’t a long one, with The Brave Falcons topping their group the following campaign against Luxembourg, Azerbaijan and Cyprus.

Romania finished their first campaign in Group B with a solid showing of two wins, two draws and two defeats. However, one of their wins was awarded due to a Norway no-show who were not permitted to travel to Romania due to COVID restrictions at the time in Norway.

Both nations will feel confident in their chances of promotion to the top-tier of the Nations League given how evenly matched all four sides in this group are.
