The Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard defamation case has reached its final week in Fairfax, Virginia.
The actor is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018. She is countersuing for $100 million.
For six gruelling weeks the pair have testified, been cross-examined and called various witnesses to the Fairfax County Court. Millions have watched live and the case has been a hot topic of conversation on social media.
On Wednesday (May 25th), a series of Johnny’s alleged texts were read out in court – and one of them has caught everyone’s attention…
Johnny Depp’s alleged ‘fish’ text read in court
A text message allegedly written by Johnny Depp was read in court by Amber Heard’s lawyer, Ben Rottenborn, on Wednesday.
The text, allegedly sent to the 58-year-old’s former talent agent Christian Carino in August 2016, featured a series of insults about his ex-wife.
“She’s begging for global humiliation… she’s gonna get it,” the text allegedly begins before listing a multitude of slanderous descriptions.
“I have no mercy, no fear and not an ounce of emotion or what I once thought was love for this gold-digging, low-level, dime-a-dozen, mushy, pointless, dangling, overused flappy fish market.
“I’m so f***ing happy she wants to go to fight this out!!! She will hit the wall hard!!!”
Depp then gave Heard’s former partner Elon Musk the brutal nickname “Mollusk”.

Actor denies writing texts read out in court
On the same day, Amber Heard’s lawyer cross-examined Johnny Depp about another series of texts he allegedly sent to his film producer about her in February 2017.
“I did not write that,” he said, denying the accusations. “You can pull what you like, I’ve never said those words. There’s not enough hubris in me to say anything like that.”
The star described the texts as “ludicrous” and said Amber’s lawyer must be “mistaken” before suggesting the messages could have been “screwed with”.
“That’s not anything I have ever said or written,” he concluded.
