Fans Praise Stacey Solomon As Comments About The Queen Resurface

In the segment from a 2018 episode, Stacey openly disagreed with her co-stars’s love for the royal family, arguing that she didn’t get ‘why we’re so obsessed with these humans’.

As crowds gather in their thousands across London to get a glimpse of the royal family, and throw parties in the street to celebrate the Queen’s 70th year on the throne, others are looking back to Stacey’s unforgettable comments on the royals.

While co-panellists Jane Moore and Linda Robson were proud to admit that they loved the Queen, Stacey was having none of it, asking them: “For what?”

When Linda answered: “She’s always worked really hard,” Stacey fired back: “But I would work really hard if the whole country paid for me to have like 12 houses, to work really hard.”

In an effort to defend the Queen, Jane argued: “They don’t pay for all of the houses.”

But Stacey got a laugh from the studio audience when she quipped: “Just a few?”

Reacting to the resurfaced clip, which was shared far and wide across social media over the long weekend, one fan commented: “Stacey Solomon is the true queen.”

Agreeing with the Loose Women star, another tweeted: “If the Queen works so hard, why isn’t it an elected position? Why is she born into a position of power over us while we pay for it? I’m with Stacey Solomon, I don’t get it either. And I don’t get why £38bn was spent while people go hungry.”

A third joked: “Stacey Solomon my actual queen fr she was spitting.”

A fourth wrote: “Fair play to Stacey Solomon for being told “the queen works really hard” and not just laughing in everyone’s faces.”

Meanwhile, a fifth penned: “The only queen I will be celebrating today is the Queen of the Jungle, Stacey Solomon.”

The resurfaced clip comes as support for the royal family faces a steady decline.

According to YouGov, while most Britons are still in favour of a royal family, support for the monarchical system has dropped consistently over the past decade, from a high of 75% in favour of a monarchy in July 2012, to 62% now.

Despite the famous clip going viral this week, Stacey has not yet addressed the resurfaced comments or acknowledged the Platinum Jubilee.
